"Ermak"

jewellers represents a new direction
in folk art craft: Filigree Easter eggs.
The article consists of a wooden
easter egg with lacquered miniature
inserted into a metal egg made
from a very thin metal wire twisted
into an egg shape. The egg is painted
in tempera.
It is plated with pure gold and pearl.
The outer metal egg is made of melhior
filigree in traditions of Moscow filigree
school of the end of 18th beginning 19th
centuries.
Lace patterns are made by using wire
lengths of various thickness and
alternating plain wires with twisted ones.
The ornaments are embelished with fine
metal balls welded onto the filigree.
The face surface of the metal enclosure
is decorated a with two-layer filigree flower
ornament with the use of precious stones.
